Grades

Each summer all incoming youth are given the Brigance Assessment that provides information on the grade level of understanding and ability in reading/language and math. The first year’s data on the youth that had been with the Youth Life Learning Center for over a full year exhibited tremendous growth. The following data explains the areas of improvement for the past 3 years.

Successes from the 2007-2008 Academic Year:

• 100% of our kids increased Reading/Language by one grade level
• 50% of our kids increased by two grade levels or more
• 54% of our kids increase Math by one grade level

Successes from the 2008-2009 Academic Year:

• 76% of our kids have attended the center 80% or more the year
• 75% of our kids have attended school between 90% and 100% of the school year
• 71% of our kids have maintained an A/B grade in conduct at school
• 82% of our kids have maintained a C average or above (includes youth with disabilities)
